Dear Friend,
Big changes are in the works at the Land Trust Alliance! Our national office moved to a new address in Washington, D.C., and we’ve changed our look. We hired a communications consultant to help develop compelling new visuals and language that land trusts can use to inspire more Americans to see the connection between land conservation and everyday life.
We hope that you will find these visuals and messages helpful. Please give us your advice as we refine them over the next several months. Learn more, view our new Philosophy statement, and provide comments to communications@lta.org.
To connect with more people, the consultant recommended that we use the full name of the Land Trust Alliance, rather than its abbreviation "LTA." So we invite you to join us in using our full name, or "the Alliance" for short. Finally, today, we are announcing a $500,000 Matching Gift Challenge to better serve the land trust community and save the natural places we love!

Five Land Trust Alliance lead investors have created a $500,000 Matching Gift Challenge Fund. They recognize that our expanded work to strengthen the land conservation movement requires increased support, so will match every charitable gift you make!
The Challenge Fund sponsors’ pledges are critically needed right now, but they must first be earned through your matching gifts. The Fund will double all giving dollar-for-dollar from new and past donors, and matches increased giving from current members. Please help us meet this Challenge and put $500,000 to work for you! | We are delighted to announce a recent staff change and a new hiring: Renee Kivikko, who has been with the Alliance since 2000, has become our new Director of Education; and Denise Schlener, a conservation veteran with over 30 years experience, has stepped into the position of National Director. These two directors will work to integrate development of the content and the delivery of the Alliance’s education and regional programs. More |

Thanks to a generous grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Alliance has just launched a national outreach campaign to promote the new tax incentive to farmers and ranchers. The campaign involves radio and TV placements, paid ads, and support materials for land trusts. We need your help to connect the farmers and ranchers who respond with the right land trust in their region.
